Friendship FoundationWhat is the Friendship Foundation? The Friendship Foundation is a select group of donors with a long-term vision for the youth in Kansas City. Each Friendship Foundation member makes a commitment to invest in children facing adversity with a gift of at least $100 monthly. Why should I join the Friendship Foundation? Children in Kansas City need your help! Children from one-parent homes are at the greatest risk of not reaching their full potential. They make up 90% of the high-school dropouts, 90% of juvenile court cases and 60% of teen suicides. There are more than 80,000 children in Kansas City living in this situation! Without YOUR support these children are more likely to go down the wrong path and end up another statistic. How YOUR gift will change a child’s life: You might not be able to invest the time by being a mentor but YOU can still change a child’s life! YOUR gift will match an at-risk child with a professionally screened and evaluated adult mentor. By simply installing an adult mentor into the life of a child, they are more likely to: · avoid drugs, alcohol and the juvenile justice system, · improve relationships with their family, peers and most importantly- themselves · improve in school YOU can change the future for children in Kansas City! |
