Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City named recipient of the 2012 Kansas City Chiefs Charity Game 
Kansas City, Mo. -- (October 31, 2011) On Sunday, October 30th, The Kansas City Chiefs officially announced that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City (BBBS-KC) would be the 2012 Chiefs Charity Game recipient. This announcement ceremony took place at the new Kauffman Center for Performing Arts at 9:00 a.m. where 30 youth from BBBS-KC were able to make their mark permanently on the building’s Children’s Wall.
The Kansas City Chiefs contributed $100,000 to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, which allows them to be permanently recognized on the Children’s Wall. To mark the team’s charitable partnership with BBBS-KC, the Kansas City Chiefs invited 30 Little Brothers and Little Sisters to add their handprints to the wall and become a lasting part of the landmark building.
Representing the Kansas City Chiefs was Owner, Lamar Hunt Jr. and President Mark Donovan. Micheal Lawrence, CEO of BBBS-KC was present along with 30 BBBS-KC Matches.
Each year, since 1984, the Kansas City Chiefs choose a beneficiary for their annual Chiefs Charity Game. Now in its 29th year, the game has raised over $3.5 million for local children’s charities.
