In Kansas City, 25% of boys live in a single-parent home, and 303 of them are currently waiting for a Big Brother. What’s more, 87% of these boys live in a home without their biological dad. That means these boys are at risk of growing up without a positive male role model that will stand by them and empower them to realize their full potential.
Some of these boys have been waiting for a Big Brother for an exceedingly long time — 147 days, 249 days, even 486 days. That’s why we need your help to find more Big Brothers and Big Couples.
It doesn’t take special skills, lots of money, or any specific personality type to be a Big. All it takes is someone who will stand with a child as a friend and ally — someone who will help clear the path to their biggest possible future.
Here are just a few of the Little Brothers that are waiting for a Big to make a positive impact on their life. Can you help us find Bigs for them and boys like them?
