Do you know what you’d like to major in or have a career in? If so, what is it?
I would like to major in Business, but also explore other majors
How has your Big helped you get where you are?
My Big has talked with me a lot about colleges and we have looked at some local colleges.
What is something your Big has taught you?
To follow my dreams and not give up.
What is something you are most proud of?
I'm proud to be making good grades and exploring future major and schools. I'm also proud of being a Little Sister to Kate and a Big Sister to my siblings.
Have you gone through any tough or challenging times and how did you deal with those times?
I've had hard times juggling a lot of school work, but I just take a deep breath, listening to some music, and get it done.
What does it mean to you to be selected as a Girl on the Rise?
It means a lot to me knowing that I was picked out of a lot of other girls and that I will be getting to experience college visits with my Big Sister.
What inspired you to want to be involved with Girls on the Rise?
When my mom told me about the program, I was excited to get involved because I want to go to college, but didn't have many opportunities to travel to see colleges out of state and Girls on the Rise will help me do that.
What schools will you use the funding to visit, and why?
University Of Nebraska, Kansas State University, because I have always wanted to go to these colleges. And I hope to visit many more.
After a thorough application process, 10 motivated, smart and talented young women from the BBBS program have been selected to be our 2017 Girls on the Rise.
Although they meet the qualifications to attend some of the best schools in the country, many would not be able to visit their dream schools. Because we believe the possibilities are endless for these girls, we are helping make the college visits of their dreams come true.
