Whether you are simply interested in learning more about being a Big or you know you are interested in taking the next step. We encourage you to attend one of our Volunteer Information Sessions. This will give you a chance to have all your questions answered and will start your volunteer application process. These meetings are hosted 2-3 times per month.
Parent and Child Orientations
The first step to enrolling a child in the BBBS program is attending a Parent/Child Orientation. These orientations are held at the Big Brothers Big Sisters office at 1709 Walnut Street in Kansas City, Missouri and usually last an hour or less. This will give us a chance to tell you about our program and for us to meet you and your children.
Third Party Events
Many great supporters and organizations have creative ways in which they'd like to support BBBSKC. Third party events are events hosted by someone other than BBBSKC but a portion of the proceeds benefit us.
We love hosting fun events and activities for our Bigs and Littles.
Special Events makes up 1/3 of our operating budget. BBBSKC has a few signature events including the annual Match Appreciation Banquet, Legacy Invitational, Summer Bowl for Kids' Sake, RISE and the Most Wanted Auction.
We are always looking for ways to recruit new, great Bigs. We hold events from time to time to encourage those interested to come out and get involved.
Our ACES program offers on-going educational and career readiness workshops to help prepare our ACES students.
These events are great ways to come and learn more about the mission of BBBSKC and how you can become involved.
