MINDDRIVE is accepting applications. MINDDRIVE, has an educational, STEM focused perspective and serves high school students in KC. The after school program uses project-based learning, and focuses on teaching problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration through math, science, technology, innovation and communication.

City Year Service Opportunity | 18+ 

With a focus on educational equity, City Year Kansas City provides opportunities for individuals ages 18-25 to serve as a student success coach, supporting the development, growth and success of students in systemically under-resourced middle and high schools. The student success coach role prepares you to be a leader in your community and helps you become ready for jobs such as positions in the Y's Before & After School Program. In addition to local locations, City Year has 29 locations across the country you can choose from! Participation Benefits include

  • Participants are paid a bi-weekly stipend to cover living expenses
  • Receive a $6,345 education award (applicable towards previous student loans)

Free Invitation to Turner Boxing Academy

Cam Awesome, a professional boxer who is a supporter of BBBSKC, has extended an invitation to all Bigs and Littles in KC to come down to his boxing gym at no charge. Any age is welcome to participate. Matches don't need to spar or fight — they can come in to work out during gym hours for free. BBBS matches would need to have permission slips signed and show proof with their medical card. Please email Steven Coleman at Steven@bbbskc.org to receive the permission slip. Turner Boxing Academy is located at 831 S 55th St. Kansas City, Kansas.
