Truman Medical Center Internships

TMC is proud to offer internships at Healing Canvas and Lakewood. The program will start in June and run for 6 weeks and end in August. Students will work 16 hours per week engaging in tasks associated with the student's job preference and 4 hours engaged in soft skills training activities facilitated by the job coach. Participants will be paid $9/hour and must have a verified diagnosis of mental health and be a rising senior or senior in high school. Build KCI Project Internship Program

The Project Internship Program is a 10-week, full-time internship designed to expose high school and college students 18 years and older to the construction industry by supporting the KCI New Terminal Project. This program provides competitive compensation and the opportunity to explore a meaningful post-graduate career in design, development, or construction project management. Student Umpires — The Kansas City Urban Youth Academy

Ongoing

The Kansas City Urban Youth Academy (KCUYA) is looking for student-athletes ages 14-22 years old to learn and grow the games of baseball and softball by becoming an umpire! Interested athletes must complete umpire training and volunteer for a minimum of three KCUYA softball/baseball events as an umpire or support staff to become a registered umpire with USA Softball. Starting pay for student umpires is $25 per game. Start At Zero

Ongoing

Start at Zero is a program desinged to support parents/guardians of children from age 0-5. Services include developmental screenings, connecting with other parents/guardians, a personal parent educator all with the goal of supporting parents in enhancing their child's growth, learning and development. Services also include connections to community resources. For more information click here

Harmony Project KC

Harmony Project KC is a free, after-school and weekend music program for children 6-18! We are building a diverse and amazing orchestra of young people in the urban core at the Northeast Community Center. Come be a part of the orchestra and learn to play violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, or clarinet with some of the area's top Teaching Artists!  

Classes follow the school year schedule, but you are encouraged to sign up now to reserve your spot for . Classes are open to youth age 6-18 and meets 3 days a week. Call 816.231.7738. For more information click here

Missouri Family to Family, along with the UMKC Institute serves as the entry point to finding information and assistance not only to individuals needing either public or private resources, but also to professionals seeking assistance on behalf of their clients and to individuals planning for their future needs.

At Missouri Family to Family, we help anyone, regardless of diagnosis, absence of diagnosis, age, race, or life situation. There are some areas of concern we address in depth, like disability issues, Medicaid/Medicare, etc.
