1. Be a Big
Defend, inspire and empower your Little’s potential as a Big Brother, Big Sister or Big Couple! A couple hours a week can have a powerful impact in a young person’s life here in KC. We have more than 300 children waiting for a Big like you.
2. Participate in Bowl for Kids' Sake
Bowl for Kids’ Sake is our largest annual fundraiser, raising over $850,000 in 2018. Getting involved is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Squad: Form your 6-person team with friends, family or coworkers
- Fundraise: A personal online fundraising page will be created just for you. Share this webpage to ask for donations via social media, text, email or carrier pigeon.
- Party: Celebrate all of your hard work with your team and enjoy free cosmic bowling, pizza, beer, ice cream and tons of prizes.
3. Become a Match Maker
You can make a big impact for the kids we serve by simply donating through our Match Makers program. Match Makers is a monthly giving program where you can give $25, $35, $50, or more each month. As a Match Maker, you'll receive a monthly story about a match we were able to make because of your generous donation. You can feel good knowing that your donation will help cover the costs to introduce a new waiting Little to their Big every month!
4. Join the Big Impact Group
Launched in 2009, the Big Impact Group (B.I.G.) is a great opportunity for young professionals in Kansas City to get involved in expanding awareness for BBBSKC. Along with creating awareness, B.I.G. helps lead key agency initiatives and is responsible for recruiting volunteer mentors and raising funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The group holds regular events throughout the year that are focused on fundraising, networking, and professional development. Have questions? Email Micheala at email@example.com for more information on joining this group.
5. Join the Diversity Task Force
The Diversity Task Force is a group of community leaders that champion Diversity and Inclusion initiatives for the agency. Each year, they strive to recruit a group of 200 diverse Bigs to the BBBSKC program. Members of the task force use their connections to provide resources to BBBSKC, brainstorm marketing ideas, and plan events and campaigns designed around diverse recruitment and increasing our inclusive community presence.
6. Join the Donation Center Board
This group focuses on BBBSKC’s partnership with Savers Thrift Stores and the clothing donation business. The Donation Center Board makes decisions that lead a productive and profitable model that provides funding to the BBBSKC program. Interested? Set up a meeting with Colby Jones, CFO, to learn more!
7. Join the Volunteer Corps
