WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AT BBBSKC
THRIFT OPERATIONS DRIVER
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Thrift Operations Director, the Thrift Operations Driver is a full-time, non-exempt position that will load and unload product from donation bins from across the Kansas City Metro area.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect product from bins and partners at various locations across Kansas and Missouri.
- Load product into truck, maximizing load volume
- Unload product out of truck into trailer or warehouse
- Categorize product and place into constructed gaylords
- Sort product.
- Effectively communicate with Supervisors daily.
- Effectively utilize Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and web-based applications
- Demonstrate safe/efficient-driving skills.
- Completion of daily driving report and input data into excel spreadsheet
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to lift 35 lbs repeatedly.
- Able to be in prolonged hot and/or cold weather.
- Kneeling, squatting, crawling, and stooping.
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling.
ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate would be extremely dependable, responsible, punctual, honest and have the highest integrity. The position requires the ability to work autonomously and have flexibility to meet changing time and demands of the job. Candidates must be able to demonstrate safe driving skills and adhere to all safety procedures. Candidates should be prepared and flexible to perform associated and related job functions that are not specifically identified. Candidates should be a team player and willing to assist other Thrift Operations Drivers.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid Class E driver’s license required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- DOT Medical Card preferred, or ability to obtain DOT Medical Card upon hire required
- CDL strongly preferred, or ability to obtain a CDL upon hire required
- An insurance accepted driving record
- Required to pass a background check and drug test
- Previous commercial driving experience preferred
STARTING PAY RANGE
$21.00 per hour, plus overtime. Paid semi-monthly.
Typical hours of operation are 7AM – 4PM Monday – Friday.
